Every Morning - Sugar Ray

Ok, here I go talking about stereotypes again. Is everyone farmiliar with "scene kids"? If not, you can use your judgment on many interpretations of that term here.

I was talking with my friends, Katie and Kathleen about the whole development of scene kids. (It was kind of funny!) Our prime example is, let's call him "Lucas". Before going into Middle School, he was plump, tan with short blond hair and happy as ever. Then on the first day of school, he walked in with shoulder-length dark brown hair, black eyeliner, pale skin and legs like sticks. (Not to mention a love of all bands having the words "bloody" and "massacre" in them.) The next year, he cut his hair shorter, added black or red eyeshadow to his face, dyed it jet-black and tightened up those pants. By that point people were talking. (I mean, scene was a thing of high school kids at that time!) Then in the last year of middle school, he lost the eye makeup, fattened up a bit and had a little of (gasp!) acne?!

That's not the point, though. Now he wears basketball shorts when he goes out (still with death metal band t-shirts). The way to be "scene" now, is to try to not be scene. Didn't anyone hear? Tight pants are out! You gotta act like you've been there and done that to be cool! No one wants to be a n00b, right? :D

Random Thought: I think the missing link in humanity is that we can't make things materialize. There'd be no cars, no oil, no money yet there'd be anything we want. If that ever happened, would people just be so sick of having everything and want nothing? Would everyone turn into clones? We wouldn't need to learn anything because getting a job is just to make money. Very thought provoking.
